Accessibility for New Zealanders

Age Concern New Zealand is a long time advocate for Age Friendly environments and communities. The Office for Seniors leads this work programme in New Zealand that aims
to ensure our communities, facilities and environments are age friendly and accessible. We also advocate for universal design which is “about making buildings accessible to people of
all abilities at any stage of life”.
Age Concern New Zealand believes that a wider scope of removing accessibility barriers will result in faster and more effective removal of barriers. For this reason, we support that the Bill applies to the Crown, Government departments, departmental agencies, statutory entities, Veteran's Affairs and local authorities.
