Dr Judith Davey’s current research is part of the MBIE-funded, Massey University research programme “Maximising Workforce Participation for Older New Zealanders”. Recent academic, business and policy literature shows that entrepreneurship is increasing among older people in many countries. Why is this happening? Why are older people setting up new businesses and how successful are they? What are the benefits and what are the barriers? The findings will throw light on a growing option for older workers in New Zealand, with the potential of helping them to achieve a “Better Later Life”.
Judith has some personal experience of entrepreneurship, having set up a business of her own three times, the first in India at age 17.
