Wellbeing story

Staying safe on the road

Age Concern Wellington has been running a series of Staying Safe Driving Courses. Such has been the success of the course that we even have waiting lists.

Attendees are invited to share their experiences, concerns, and anxieties about driving, and a Catholic nun who attended one of these courses said she really appreciated the supportive atmosphere. The presenter then explores these issues, shows a safe navigation video and gets participants to work in pairs to examine and resolve actual driving situations.

Our nun reported feeling more confident about her driving at the completion of the course and has recommended it to 200 of her colleagues, all Sister of Mercy Nuns.
